A day in the life

A sample preschool day

The rhythm of a Newton Montessori day — long, uninterrupted work cycles, fresh meals from our kitchen, time outdoors, and daily enrichment.

7:00 – 8:30

Before care

Early drop-off with quiet activities and free play as children arrive.

8:30 – 9:30

Arrival & breakfast

App check-in and quiet activities as children settle in, followed by a fresh CACFP breakfast together.

9:30 – 11:45

Morning circle & work cycle

Greeting, calendar, and intentions, then an uninterrupted Montessori work cycle — language, math, sensorial & practical life.

11:45 – 1:30

Outdoor play & lunch

Gross-motor and free play outdoors (weather, AQI & UV permitting), a story and wash-up, then a fresh CACFP lunch from our kitchen.

1:30 – 3:00

Rest & quiet work

Nap for younger children; an afternoon work cycle for non-nappers 4+ — reading, writing, and a brain-break.

3:00 – 4:30

Snack & enrichment

Afternoon snack, then music & movement, art & craft, or circle time (hygiene, public speaking).

4:30 – 7:00

Outdoor play & after-care

More fresh air, then free choice, games, and reading until pickup — app check-out whenever you arrive.
